The beverage company has finally announced its smartphone, but it is worth it?

beverage company Pepsi has finally announced its smartphone, and it is
called Pepsi P1. Thanks to a crowdfunding campaign gone well, the
company was able to sell backers the smartphone for a price of $78
initially. Now that those units are all sold out, there are the $110 and
$150 models being sold. Now, when these units are sold out too, then
the device is going to be sold for the price of $200, according to the
latest source.
For the price of $200, you are getting a decent smartphone that is
running a MediaTek MT6592 chipset. The chipset is running an octa-core
Cortex-A7 chip at 1.7GHz, along with 2GB of RAM. There is also 16GB of
internal memory present inside Pepsi P1, and while there is support for a
storage card slot, we currently do not have information on how much it
actually supports. To make the smartphone sport a flexible outlook,
Pepsi P1 also supports dual SIM compatibility, with the function of LTE
connectivity present as well.
The disappointing thing about Pepsi P1 is that it is not running
Android Marshmallow, but Android Lollipop 5.1, despite being released
later in the year. However, the smartphone has a 5.5 inch 1080p 2.5D
type display, and a 3,000mAh battery life, which is not so bad,
considering the $200 price tag. There is also an 802.11n adapter and a
BT 4.0 module present.
Currently, there is no word on availability, but it looks like Pepsi is
going to keep it limited to the Chinese market. If there is a positive
outlook towards the smartphone in this market, then there is a very high
probability that Pepsi P1 could make its way to other markets,
otherwise, it will still be a nice product for the Chinese to spend
their hard earned $200 on.

Recently, the university administration in it's bid to industrialize the
school with information technology introduced a mandatory policy, where
all students must own a laptop and pay N70,000 as laptop fee. But many
students are unhappy that such levies have been imposed on them.
Students said that this new policy is making education so difficult for
the poor, as with this policy, many students would now be paying close
to N200,000 in a federal university per session.
The students are calling the new Education Minister to call the vice
chancellor to order..that laptop ownership should be a choice and not
mandatory!

In 1999, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected Governor of Lagos
State. His then party, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) produced all
the governors of the South West.
By 2003, Tinubu was the only governor left in the AD. He was

Commissioner for Justice. He is today, Nigeria's Vice President.

3. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN was Tinubu's Chief of Staff and

today, Nigeria's Minister of Information.
5. Babatunde Fowler was appointed by Tinubu as Chairman of the

At the National Assembly, there are countless "Tinubu boys" who have
occupied and are still occupying seats till today.
Since 1999, the Tinubu camp has produced almost 98% of the members

Forget politics, this man is a political enigma.
Rewind to 1999, I am sure most of us have forgotten the names of the
People who were elected Governors then. Some of them have gone
out of circulation. Some are gasping for breath politically. Indeed,
most of them are no longer relevant today.
Who still remembers Mbadinuju of Anambra State, Jolly Nyame of
Taraba, Mohammed Lawal of Kwara, Segun Osoba of Ogun,
Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto, Achike Udenwa of Imo, Victor
Attah of Akwa Ibom, Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia? That one has lost
two consecutive senatorial elections.
But Tinubu has not only managed to remain extremely relevant, he has
continued to control Lagos politics 100%. Not only that, he manages to
carry his boys along and today they occupy critical positions in our
national life.
Take it or leave it, Tinubu is today, Nigeria's most powerful
politician. It didn't just happen by chance. He worked very hard for it.
Very very hard.
The hallmark of a true leader is not just the ability to rule well but
also the ability to nurture and groom his associates.

No fewer than 105 soldiers are said to have gone missing after a gun
battle with Boko haram sect members at Gudunbali, Borno State, on
Wednesday November 18th. According to a report by Premium Times,
the soldiers went missing after a fight with the insurgents who tried to
capture the community early yesterday morning.
A T-72 tank as well as several artillery weapons from the unit were
reportedly carted away by the sect members.
“Gudunbali was attacked this morning and some weapons
were captured from the battalion. Two officers and 105
soldiers are still missing. They captured a T-72 tank from
the unit and some artillery weapons were also captured.
The commanding Officer (CO) of the battalion is yet to be
seen but no one has been confirmed dead yet,” a source told
PT.
The source also added that the sect members carted away a truck
loaded with 60,000 rounds of AA ammunition and three artillery
pieces. Spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman as well as
the spokesperson of the Army’s 7 Division, Tukur Gusau, both
declined to comment on the matter, saying that the commander of the
division would hold a press conference on the matter today November
19th.

60-year-old single mother, Miss Kehinde Adeniyi has been arrested and
charged before Isolo Magistrates’ court for allegedly using a table
knife to cut off her neighbour’s ear in Lagos State, western Nigeria.
The
victim, Chigozie Chukwu suffered his fate after a disagreement between
his wife and Adeniyi when he was not around.The incident happened at 24,
Mohammed Sefiu street, Ago Palace Way Okota, Lagos where they reside.

learnt that the two families have been at loggerheads which led to a
strained relationship despite the fact that they are living in separate
flats.
Adeniyi,
who hails from Ijebu in Ogun State, is single and has many children,
while Chukwu is also married and has children and hails from the eastern
part of Nigeria.Trouble started after Chukwu’s wife, Anita, had a
quarrel with Adeniyi.
According to Adeniyi, Anita called her a prostitute because she was single mother with children.
This
did not go down well with Adeniyi who planned to confront Anita on that
fateful day and when she did not locate her, she transferred her
aggression to her husband.
On
the day the incident happened, Adeniyi reportedly attacked Chukwu from
behind with a table knife She allegedly cut off his right ear and threw
it away.The victim who started bleeding profusely was rushed to a
hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the police and Adeniyi was arrested and taken to court for the alleged offence.
She was charged with inflicting bodily injury by using table knife to cut off Chukwu’s ear.
She pleaded not guilty.
The
prosecutor, Inspector Abbass Abayomi informed the court about the
seriousness of the injury the victim sustained and presented the table
knife as exhibit before the court.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Adedayo granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Adeniyi is making efforts settle the matter out of court.
The singer said she was "going to belch" as breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw cued the song up.
"My hips just started hurting, as I'm getting so nervous," she laughed. "There's a heartbeat in my hips for some reason."
"I obviously want people to like it," she said, describing the song as "very intimate" and "very conversational".
"I'm singing very high up in that chorus, trying to have a Meatloaf moment or something."
A simple piano ballad with a soaring chorus, Hello was first teased during an advert break on Sunday's edition of The X Factor.
Adele said she was worried people would think the 30-second clip was simply a new advert for John Lewis.

Musically,
Hello doesn't rewrite any rule books but it's a powerful, moving
reminder of Adele's ability to pull at our heartstrings.
It
begins, like Someone Like You, with Adele's lone voice over a mournful
piano figure. But by the coda, the song soars - with a vocal flourish
that sends shivers down the spine.
The lyrics are a simple apology
for breaking someone's heart. Throughout the song, Adele repeatedly
tries to get in touch with her ex, but no response comes. By the end,
her regret is tinged with bitterness with that her transgression
"doesn't tear you apart".
"It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry," she sings in the second verse.
Somehow, I don't think anyone will mind. The star's comeback comes after three years of
musical silence. Her last single was the Oscar-winning Bond theme
Skyfall in 2012. Her previous album, 21, was released a year earlier and
went on to become the biggest-selling record of the 21st Century.
Thanks largely to the success of the emotive ballad Someone Like You, the record sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
In
the UK alone, it shifted 4.75 million copies, making it the country's
fourth best-selling album of all time, in an era when album sales have
been in critical decline.

Explaining the gap between albums, the star, who had
her first son, Angelo, in 2012, said: "I did pretty much write an album
about being a mum but that's pretty boring. I scrapped that.
"I
felt like I was never going to finish this record, she added. "It was a
long process. I wanted to give up a lot because I couldn't do it. I
thought I'd run out of ideas and I'd lost my ability to write a song.
"My team around me are so amazing. They're very honest. They were like, it's not good enough. Go back to the drawing board.

A pastor in South Africa has abandoned the pulpit for a coffin, literally.
According to church member and former drug dealer, 28 year old Aphiwe
Nqevu ‘brought the coffin to illustrate to people who fail to embrace
Jesus as the son of God that they will go to hell and face eternal
death.
They said they use coffin to ‘urge people to embrace God because once death occurs, it is too late to decide’.

Chicken restaurant has taken public relations to new heights by putting
a chicken in charge of its tweeter account. In the publicity stunt, the
chicken's keyboard was covered in chicken feed to ensure it keeps
pecking away. The company says it will keep it up until the chicken
types an intelligible five letter word and takes a place in Guinness
World Book Of Records as the first chicken to do so.

far it has only managed one word, 'bum'. However not everyone sees the
funny side with animal rights activist saying the restaurant uses the
chicken to unwittingly promote the slaughter of fellow chicken,
according to TIME magazine: "Betty is unwittingly working to promote a
firm that exists only to execute and barbecue her brethren for human
consumption."
The
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Monday said it had
arrested a 70-year old fake Presidential Adviser on Defence Matters
Presenting
the suspect ,Aamule Sule who claimed to be a retired Army Colonel, to
the media, the command’s Spokesman, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, said the
suspect was arrested on October 18 at a house in Maitama area of Abuja
where he claimed to have met a former governor.
“Police
operatives attached to Maitama Division acting on a tip-off arrested
one fake Colonel (name withheld) who claimed to be the Special Adviser
to the President on Defence Matters“He also confessed that he only hides
under that guise to solicit for juicy contracts or financial favour
from his high profile victims,” he said.
He said that one fake identification card and five complimentary cards were recovered from him.
The
suspect, who said he worked with the Bauchi State Government up to
1990, said he had been in the business for over three years.
