Television is an invention that permits you to be entertained in your living room by people you wouldn’t have in your home.” I love watching television. I watch a lot of business channels, such as Bloomberg TV, which is my favourite and many others. I look forward to the day when AFRICA will have quality media, which gives us good entertainment, and insightful information into African business trends and those from other parts of the world as well. But yeah, welcome, this is my living room.”

“I feel bed to show you where I sleep, you know,” he said, showing us into the bedroom. “But here is where I sleep. My wife and I try the best we can to keep this place as serene and quite as possible.” “To tell you the truth, I spend less time here than I do in my office and elsewhere where I can work. I do value relaxation and unwinding, and I have read a lot of news articles and research studies that recommend eight to ten hours of sleep.” “But why should one sleep so much? To relax? Don’t get me wrong, relaxing is good, but if you love to sleep, poverty will be your portion. Well, this is my bedroom, let’s move on.”

See the World's most expensive cake costs $75 million

The world's most expensive cake is a gem-encrusted birthday and engagement dessert that is six foot long, includes 4,000 real diamonds and was created by a top fashion designer, 33 year old mother of 3, Debbie Wingham, who turned to baking after creating the world's most expensive dress for £11.5million from black and red diamonds.
She spent 1,100 hours on her latest masterpiece which she made for a rich Arab family living in the United Arab Emirates. The cake cost  $75 million!

The cake includes amethysts and emeralds. It also
has a runway with models strutting on the runway. Figures on the cake have designer handbags, dark glasses and footwear as well as the latest electronic devices.

The cake weighed 450kg....that's a massive cake!

quote for the day

1. When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares
2. What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies
3. I think if I've learned anything about friendship, it's to hang in, stay connected, fight for them, and let them fight for you. Don't walk away, don't be distracted, don't be too busy or tired, don't take them for granted. Friends are part of the glue that holds life and faith together. Powerful stuff
4. You give but little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give
5.The belief that unhappiness is selfless and happiness is selfish is misguided. It's more selfless to act happy. It takes energy, generosity, and discipline to be unfailingly lighthearted, yet everyone takes the happy person for granted. No one is careful of his feelings or tries to keep his spirits high. He seems self-sufficient; he becomes a cushion for others. And because happiness seems unforced, that person usually gets no credit

    • Chandra Bahadur Dangi

At 21.5 inches (approximately 1 foot, 7 inches) in height, life for Nepalese resident Chandra Bahadur Dangi had always been a struggle. Barely making a living out of making bamboo baskets and placements, Dangi had never stepped out of his isolated Nepali village of Reemkholi in Dang district.
But this changed when he was discovered by the Guinness World Records team. It was then that Dangi, now 75, travelled 540 kms to the country's capital Kathmandu.
In February 2012, he was officially declared the shortest man in the world -- beating Junrey Balawing of the Philippines who is 5.3cm taller.
The seventh sibling of a family of six brothers and two sisters (all of whom are normal in height), Dangi has since travelled across eight countries, including the UK and Australia, for events where he often shares stage with record holders in various categories.
On Wednesday, he visited Mumbai for a brief stopover, before flying to the South Pacific island of Samoa.
Dangi said he was awestruck at the beauty of the Mumbai airport, and looked forward to a longer stay in future. This is his first trip to India.
Speaking to visitors and the media during a formal interaction at Rambo Circus's office in Govandi he said, "I want to visit every part of the world, and through the award, I am getting the opportunity."
"But on the flip side, the undue attention at the airports, sometimes, gets on my nerves," he added.
As Dangi understands and speaks only Nepali, his interactions were diligently translated by his nephew, Dolak Dangi who manages most of his uncle's international trips. He was also instrumental in introducing Dangi to the Guinness team.
While Dangi's condition has never been diagnosed (he claims he has never taken any medication), he says his age surprises people. Short people are said to have a shorter lifespan.
"The secret to my health is my frugal diet. Only two spoons of rice for each of the three daily meals, sometimes accompanied by a short piece of chicken or fish," said Dangi, who weighs 14.5kg.
The owner of Rambo Circus Surjit Dilip, who arranged the stop-over in association with 'The magic Circus of Somoa', vouched for his strict diet regime too.
"He denied ice-cream, and took only few sips of water. His discipline is amazing," said the host. "Unlike other record holders who are aware of the benefits, Dangi is still very naïve. Our purpose was to monetarily help him."
As for Dangi, his life's u-turns are complete wonder as his stature was always a burden and fitting in the normal world was an unforgiving challenge to this new-found fame.

World shortest man dies at 75
